EOP&S provides support services to non-traditional students affected by educational and economic barriers. It motivates students toward career goals and fosters self-esteem. EOP&S at City College is the largest state-funded program of its type in California.
Personal Services
Academic and Personal Counseling EOP&S provides academic, personal and career counseling to students interested in transferring to a four-year university, pursuing an academic/vocational certificate or an Associate Degree.
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a California Resident
- Enroll as a full-time student(12 units or more) at the time of acceptance
- Qualify for the Board of Government's Fee Waver (BOGG) A or B
- Not have more than 69 college units completed accredited post-secondary institution
- Be educationally disadvantaged as defined by the state Chancellor's Office
The BOGG A or B will waive your enrollment fees. The application can be found in the College's Schedule of Classes or the Financial Aid Office on campus.
Care
Within EOP&S is a special program called Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE). CARE provides additional support services to EOP&S students receiving public assistance who are single parents with children under the age of 15. CARE offers all of the EOP&S services as well as childcare referral, auto gas card, meal tickets, auto-repair reimbursement, parking permits and parenting workshops.
